NSW Parliamentary Inquiry Calls for Long-Term Advocacy Funding!

Stand By Me logoThe much awaited report on the NSW implementation of the NDIS released today set down 23 recommendations, many of which centred around the NSW Government ensuring it remains committed to services for all people with disability in NSW.

The committee acknowledged the significant contribution of advocacy organisations in the disability sector and the important work they do in supporting and advocating for anyone with a disability, their families and their carers, regardless of whether they are eligible for the NDIS.

The committee also believes it is imperative that funding from the NSW Government continue after 2020 to ensure people with a disability can exercise their rights and be included members of the community, also acknowledging the importance of the broader advocacy services and advice these organisations provide.

The Physical Disability Council of NSW calls on Gladys Berejiklian to publicly commit to this vital funding now and ensure people with disability have a voice now, and into the future!
