Last month the Minister for Disability Services, The Honorable John Ajaka, nominated PDCN’s Executive Officer, Serena Ovens, to sit on his newly formed governance committee – The Disability Inclusion Plan Implementation Committee.
The committee has been established in order to provide guidance and oversight of the implementation of the NSW Disability Inclusion Plan (DIP), and Disability Inclusion Act 2014.
PDCN is proud to be acknowledged to partner with the NSW Government Departments, other NFP’s and local government bodies that also sit on this committee, and look forward to ensuring the voice of people with disability are represented in the implementation of the DIP, and in the establishment of Disability Inclusion Action Plans (DIAP) throughout NSW, and will do our utmost to promote effective engagement, identify opportunities to further develop capacity and inclusion and ensure accountability for the implementation of DIAP requirements.
